is a computer that issues certificates for a
certifying authority
.
Microsoft Certificate Services
runs on a certificate server.
A certificate server running
Microsoft Certificate Services
cannot change:
Its name.
Its domain membership.
Although not required, it is a good idea to have a server the domain function only as a certificate server.
